OK, so I guess I'm the first (and only?) one to say "Yes, I have registered for GenCon".
Of course, I had to do it so we could try to get a hotel. Screwed up system cheated us out of the choice we wanted, so I have a room at the Radisson that's on Monument Circle. Maybe a little tiny bit closer than the Hilton Garden Inn that we stayed at the first two nights last year. At least it's a room for four consecutive nights, so no extraneous moving mid-week.
Depends on where you stay - the downtown rooms in the block are sold out right now, though you could get on the waiting list. Those will run about $600 and up for four nights, I believe. You can also stay out by the airport for less (about $50-$60 per night, so about $200 or so for four nights) but then you'd probably have to either drive in or take a taxi, which is probably around $20 a day, depending on where you park - there is apparently a lot somewhere that runs $10 a day during the week and $5 a day on the weekend, but I'm not sure where it is.
And because I forgot to mention it before, check out the GenCon forums for more information. You could also presumably find someone who already has a room looking for roommates (or looking to get rid of an extra room).
Which translates as: the change in ownership of the auction has everything up in the air, but the important part is that my dad's reg'd and got us a room... also out on monument circle... suppose it could be worse, but I've kind of gotten used to the block-and-a-half walks the last couple years...

Not yet. Of course, I'll most likely be getting my badge from True Dungeon.

Are you working True Dungeon because you liked it or because you lack money?

Both? Heh.

I will as soon as I get my tax money. About how much is a hotel room for the four nights?
