GenCon Plans

With GenCon being less then two weeks away, I was wondering if we wanted to make any plans. I plan to be there on Wednesday night, and was wondering if we all wanted to meet for dinner or something. A place to catch up, and relax before plunging into the gaming.

I was also wondering if there were any events we were all going to. I know I am going to the dance thing Saturday night. And there was talk about True Dungeon. I posted on it, but not sure if anyone saw it. I would like to play if there is an open slot.

  • Hi Rob - sounds like a plan.

    On Wednesday I'd be up for a late-ish supper. I need to be at the RPGA judges meeting at 7:00, and check-in there at 6:00 -- but the meeting will be done aroud 7:30 and so after that would be a good time for supper.

    I think there's a True Dungeon slot available, but I need to hear that from Kathy, probably, as the keeper of the "who's in the True Dungeon group". (it's either Kathy or Kalen who is the keeper)

  • Guess I'll miss the dinner since I won't be leaving from Downers Grove until 5:00 or later and in Indy about 9:00 p.m. Someone please remember to supply me with directions, which hotel we're staying at and where I'm supposed to park when I get there.

  • I think I could make it for dinner between 7:30 and 8. I'm running the Gamer Wenches' Party Game event at 9 pm on Wednesday, so I kinda need to be there for that.

    There is currently one spot available in the TD group. Is it just you for GenCon this year, Rob, or is #1 coming?

    Cody and I are planning to be at the dance Saturday night. I've even got a steampunk costume all set to go. :)

  • 7:30 sounds good for dinner. I think I should be available then. I'm planning on going to the dance Saturday, and I believe Ryan is as well.

    Ryan is the keeper of the TD tickets, so if you're planning to run, you'll need to make payment arrangements with him. It would also be helpful to know your preferred character class. :)

  • Sounds good to me. I can give Ryan the money when we meet up, and as for the class I looked at the site, and Paladin or Ranger would work for me (Though I think the site needs updating, cause I didn't see Druid on there). I work with a guy who works for them, and will talk to him today about it.

    I have my Steam Punk costume, and will be putting it up on my DeviantART soon, likely tonight or tomorrow.

  • May I suggest "outside the Sagamore Ballroom" for our meeting place?

    That's self-serving, since that's where I'll be, but it's probably better to meet somewhere other than a restaurant, so that then we can scope out where a good place to eat is -- together.

    If you don't know, Sagamore Ballroom is on the 2nd floor of the convention center, at the end nearest the Hyatt and the Circle Centre. It's where the RPGA games will be (thus I'll be there for the judge's meeting).

    I'll also send everyone my cell phone number, sometime before Gencon.
